Chester schoolgirls brought

Mary Poppins

to life.

Pupils in Years 5 and 6 at Queen’s Lower School performed the musical to parents and friends over the course of two nights.

There were some spectacular performances from girls in the lead roles including Mia Taylor from Gresford as Mary, Abigail Anwyl from Flintshire as Bert the chimneysweep, Libby Kay from Frodsham as Mr Banks , Evie Tipping from Chester as Mrs Banks and Imogen Baxter from Ellesmere Port and Annabel Williams from Chester as the Banks children.

They sung the famous songs from the show including Chim-chiminee, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Let’s Go Fly a Kite beautifully and all the children acted the various supporting roles with real energy, enthusiasm and attention to detail.

The wonderful stage sets were designed and made in house by teaching assistants Mrs Davies and Mrs Long.

Headmistress Felicity Taylor said: “Along with the audience, I was completely swept away by this magical performance. The girls have worked so hard and it showed – they were nothing short of magnificent!”
