A Chester performer has landed the lead role in one of the UK’s most exciting new musicals.

Warren Sollars is no stranger to the West End, having previously performed in dozens of musicals including Mamma Mia and From Here to Eternity.

But this time he’s leading the cast by playing Marc Bolan in a show about the late singer’s life.

The former St David’s High School pupil, who has lived in London for nine years, will tour the UK in 20th Century Boy, which features Bolan’s best known songs, with the first big show opening in Manchester at the city’s Opera House on April 22.

The 28-year-old will be joined by a cast including former soap star Sue Jenkins and Luke Bailey, known for his roles in Waterloo Road and Casualty).

Warren’s proud dad Paul said: “We’re all so looking forward to this show. Warren’s been in some big shows and has been understudy a few times but this is the one, he can really go for this.

“It’s him all over and it’s going to be rocking. I know Warren is itching to hit the stage as Marc Bolan, one of the legends of glam rock.”
