Police have arrested a 59-year-old man in connection with an assault that left a man slumped outside a Chester TV shop with serious head injuries.

Officers from Cheshire Local Policing Unit are appealing for information following the incident, which happened outside Richer Sounds in Hoole yesterday (Tuesday August 11) at approximately 12.10pm.

The victim, a 48-year-old man from the Chester area, was found collapsed outside the shop and taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Detective Sergeant Nick Henderson said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the local area at the time of this incident who believes that they may have any information to assist with our enquiries to come forward.”

“I would specifically like to speak a man and woman who were seen entering Richer Sound having stopped to assist the injured man after the incident occurred.”
