A 32-year-old man has died after the car he was driving collided with a tree on the A49 near Tushingham on Thursday night (January 14).

The fatal crash occurred at Quoisley Bridge near to Bradley Green at around 9.05pm.

The victim's green BMW 320 was travelling along the road when it left the carriageway and struck the tree.

He sadly passed away at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Investigation launched

A police investigation is now under way and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car around that time to come forward.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire police on 101, quoting incident number 834 of January 14.
