A 40-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences following an investigation into a spate of burglaries in Chester .

Michael Langton, 40, of Dawpool Close, Newton, Chester has been charged with two counts of burglary dwelling and a further offence of going equipped to steal.

On Wednesday November 30, in the early hours of the morning, police were notified of a burglary and an attempted burglary in Well Lane and a burglary in Totland Close, all in the Newton area of Chester.

Local officers conducted a search of the area and arrested a man who was later charged with the offences.

Langton appeared at Chester Magistrates Court today (December 1).
