A 27-year-old man was arrested after a scrap at a Jobcentre Plus in Winsford .

A security guard suffered a puncture wound to his arm in the altercation on Friday morning (November 11).

Cheshire Police said there would be more patrols in Winsford as a result.

Officers were called to the Jobcentre on High Street in the town at 9.11am.

The man, who is from Winsford but of no fixed address, remains in custody after being arrested.

The 25-year-old security guard was taken to Leighton Hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “As a result of the incident there is currently an increased police presence in the local area.”
