A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a puppy was stolen from its owner’s home.
Chester mum Kia McGrath and teenage daughter Meg were devastated to wake last Monday morning to find their 13-week-old mini Yorkshire terrier Baxter was not in the kitchen of their Guilden Sutton home where they had left him.
They discovered both of the kitchen windows were wide open, despite them having been firmly shut the night before.
Kia had offered a £300 reward for the safe return of the black, white and grey puppy which she had bought from a breeder for £400 only last month as a birthday gift for Meg..
But their despair turned to joy when police found missing Baxter in Hoole and were able to return him safely to his delighted owners.
Officers arrested the 21-year-old man Baxter was discovered with and he remains in police custody where he will be interviewed shortly.
