A MAN has been arrested following a drugs raid in Chester.

A team of officers from Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested the man after raiding a house in Boughton this week.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Acting on local intelligence, officers executed the warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house on Alma Street in Boughton just after 7pm on Monday evening.

“During the search of the premises, officers discovered a quantity of cannabis inside the address.

“A 29-year-old local man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and was taken to Blacon Custody suite for interview.”

The man admitted the offence and was later given an adult caution.

Inspector Ian Thorp said: “We regularly carry out drug operations that are often borne out of intelligence relayed to us from the community.

“Drug-related activity causes misery for our local residents and will not be tolerated in the city.

“We will do all we can to disrupt the illegal activities of those involved in the distribution of drugs in Chester.”
