Prospect House in Malpas has won an award for being in the Top 20 of the most recommended care homes in North West England.

There are 2,002 homes in North West England with the top 20 receiving an award from the leading guide to care homes, carehome.co.uk

The award is based on the care home’s recommendations from their residents, plus friends and relatives of residents.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends. Their recommendations show that so many care homes are warm and inviting places to live where residents receive loving and compassionate care.

“Prospect House has proved that it provides excellent care and we’d like to congratulate it on being a top recommended home in North West England. It’s a wonderful achievement to be recognised for being a highly recommended home by the very people you care for.

“Looking for the right care home can be tough. We hope our awards will help to make people’s search that little bit easier.”

Matron and care home manager Caroline Rowland said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be the only home in Cheshire West and Chester on the list of the Top 20 Recommended Care Homes in North West England.

“We’re fortunate in working from a beautiful listed building with a really friendly homely feel. But we always put our resident’s individual wishes at the centre of everything we do and I think it’s the main reasons that residents and families have been so kind in their comments. Developing the best technical nursing skills also plays a major role – and that certainly helped us get the top rating this year in the national scheme of end-of-life care - called the Gold Standards Framework.

“None of this happens, of course, without a fantastic team and I couldn’t be happier for the crew. They deserve a big round of thanks. We’ll be celebrating properly at our annual crew dinner in May.”

Prospect House has also just opened a new suite of rooms, taking their registration with regulator the CQC to 56.
