COUNCIL accountants have made a real difference to Chester’s Overleigh cemetery in Handbridge.

The financial management staff removed vegetation from memorial stones, undertook a general tidy up, and carried out a leaf and litter collection.

Also there on the day were staff from the cemeteries and crematorium service and Streetscene.

Handbridge Park Councillor Neil Sullivan said: “The 18-strong group worked really hard and made a real difference. Volunteers are continuing to undertake a great deal of work at Overleigh cemetery.”
