A shed load of paper is causing traffic disruption in both directions on the M56 by the M6 Lymm Interchange on Monday morning (November 30).

Reports from about 7.30am suggest an HGV has shed large rolls of paper, affecting Chester-bound motorists between junctions seven to nine and the M6 south-bound access at junction 20, causing 20 minute delays.

Highways England also reports Manchester-bound traffic is affected between junctions nine and ten leading to 10 minute delays.

North West Motorway Police said a lane one closure westbound was in place from 10am as crews worked to clear up the paper.

Normal conditions are not expected to resume until 10am. All lanes of the M56 at Junction 9 have been reopened.

Highways Agency officials are dealing with the incident. BBC Travel reports congestion and 'slow traffic'.
