A LOWER speed limit is in prospect on a main road into Chester.
The reduction, from 60mph to 50mph, is proposed on Liverpool Road from the junction with the A41 in Moston to the start of the existing 40mph zone through Upton.
City highway chiefs are due to hear at a Town Hall meeting on Thursday (January 22) the measure is part of a review of speed limits on all A and B roads in Cheshire.
Area highway manager Colin Stredder says the limit would be introduced as phase one of the implementation of the review in Chester district.
He is inviting comments from the city's highways and transportation committee and from the parish council.
The measure will also be advertised to enable people to put forward their views.
Under the proposal, the remainder of the speed limits along Liverpool Road to the city centre will remain unchanged.
