LORD Sainsbury has visited Winsford for the official opening of a new manufacturing line at Advanced Medical Solutions Group plc (AMS).

The company, based on the Winsford Industrial Estate, is a leader in the multi-billion pound wound-care technology market.

The new facilities were opened last Tuesday and Science and Innovation Minister Lord Sainsbury was guest of honour.

He said: 'I was delighted to be able to join the management team and members of staff at the official opening of the company's new facilities.

'The global wound-care market is estimated to be worth $13 billion and it is pleasing to see investments in research and development and capital equipment by companies such as AMS resulting in real economic growth.

'I wish Advanced Medical Solutions Group every success for the future and hope the company continues to go from strength to strength.'

Lord Sainsbury's visit was hosted by Chief Executive Dr. Don Evans, who introduced him to management and staff while showing him the premises and officially opening the new manufacturing line.

Dr Evans said: 'As a UK based technology company, AMS is ideally placed to become a new generation wound-care supplier to the NHS and global markets.

'We are delighted that Lord Sainsbury was able to visit our R&D laboratories and manufacturing facilities at Winsford.'
