A man holed up in a unit in Sandycroft at the centre of an armed siege appears to have given himself up. The man was seen being put into the back of a police van at the end of the stand-off, which has so far lasted several hours.

Bryn Jones, who rents a garage next door to the incident, told the Daily Post: “The police were here a few months ago and served a warrant on a place next door. They were here yesterday driving up and down Factory Road several times. There’s my garage with a container in there. Then there’s another yard with all sorts of scrap in there. It looks like that is where the police are.”
