Hammond students in Chester are celebrating an excellent year of A Level results , with a significant increase in the pass rate at A-B.

Professional dance student Gemma McConville gained A grades in both English Literature and business studies, drama students Grace Bastyan and Abigail Sherratt achieving As in theatre studies, together with drama student Dexter Southern who is celebrating 2 B grades, in theatre studies and English Literature.

All drama students in their final year of the two-year BTEC Performing Arts (acting) course gained double starred distinctions and will be leaving to pursue further training at either university or drama college.

Hammond principal Maggie Evans said: “We are delighted with this year’s results, and would like to congratulate our talented and hardworking students.

“Their achievements are even more impressive when you consider that they combine A Level study with either the three year professional dance or musical theatre diploma, or the two year BTEC Performing Arts (Acting) courses.”
