A new softball team has started training in Vicars Cross.

The newly formed Chester Pirates Softball team first met at the end of August at 6pm on Thackery Drive playing fields.

Training will continue throughout the year on a weekly basis and anyone is welcome to come along and try out the sport, whatever your age, gender or ability. A softball team consists of a 50/50 split of male and female.

Organisers aim to have a teams from the Chester Pirates competing next season in the Northwest leagues.

The focus of the Chester Pirates is inclusivity and the social, fun side of team sports. All training sessions will be overseen by the BSUK (Baseball softball UK).

The Chester Pirates will be competing in tournaments throughout the ‘off season’ and will continue to train ready for the coming season next year.
