Record numbers joined in the party atmosphere at the annual Lache family fun day which was supported by Sanctuary Housing.

Lache residents basked in the sunshine at Lache Primary School, Hawthorn Road, and enjoyed a wide range of activities for all ages, including demonstrations from Deva Boxing Academy.

Children learnt circus skills from street performer Gadge, and the Next Big Sing talent competition featured pupils from local schools. The winners were Jasmine Arnott, in the over 11s category and Lily George in the under 11s category.

Organiser Su Johnstone and her group of volunteers teamed up with Sanctuary Housing and local organisations, including St Mark’s Church, Chester Healthy Living Centre, Lache Health Centre, West Cheshire College, the Pathways team and Lache Children’s Centre.

Sue Cadwaladr, Sanctuary Housing area manager, said: “It was great to see so many families coming together to support the community in Lache at this year’s fun day.

“Thanks to Su Johnstone who led her team of volunteers and to all who made this such a superb day. It was fantastic to see so much talent on show in the Next Big Sing competition.”
