POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed at knife-point as she withdrew money from a cash machine in Crewe.

The 28-year-old victim had parked her car at the Safeway supermarket in Vernon Way and approached a nearby Natwest machine when the attack took place at 8.50pm on Tuesday last week.

Police say when she inserted her cash card she realised a man was standing close behind her.

He warned her not to turn around and threatened her while holding the knife to her side. He demanded cash and made off with £80, her cash card and mobile phone.

The woman described the robber as white, in his late 20s, of slim build and between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins. He wore dark clothing and a fleece jacket.
