THE King’s School’s Passion for Poetry group has organised a poetry reading session and a poetry writing competition to celebrate this year’s National Poetry Day.

Senior students introduced and read aloud their favourite poems to an appreciative audience of staff and pupils in the library during lunchtime.ŠThis was followed by readings of the shortlisted and winning competition poems all on the theme of ‘Home’. Pupils from all years delivered their own poems and received certificates.

The four winning poems were from Jack Hodgkinson, 11, of Christleton, Alice Cousins, 12, of Chester, Nathan Addison, 15, of Hoole and Matthew Spencer, 15, of Mollington.
