FUNDRAISERS at the University of Chester are celebrating after collecting almost £1,000 for disadvantaged youngsters.

A whole host of activities, from a flamenco dancing lessons to a pyjama party, took place across Chester and Warrington campuses in aid of Children in Need.

Christine Stockton, director of learning resources and flamenco expert, said: 'We wanted to bend the rules slightly just for one day and have noise and food in the library all for a good cause.'

She added: 'All library fines paid were also donated along with cash raised from refreshments and balloon tombola. We had a fantastic day and managed to raise £912.'
