ADULT gym equipment was proposed on recreational public open space.
The application was made by Ashton Hayes Parish Council at the green space on Ashton Lane.
Planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council were told approval was being sought for adult equipment, which would be located adjacent to a children’s play area, a children’s swing in the play area, picnic tables, bench seats and bins.
The open space had approval for recreation in 2008 according to a report.
No representations were made by neighbours.
The ‘small scale’ development would preserve the openness of that part of the borough’s green belt and would provide essential facilities for outdoor sport and recreation, planners believed.
There would be no significant harm to the openness of the space and the surrounding area.
The equipment would have a limited effect on the area and there would be no unacceptable harm to the amenities of neighbouring properties.
The application was recommended for approval and the borough council agreed the equipment could have permission.
