THE jury in the trial of Michael Wood and Matthew Ferguson has been sent home for the night.

On Wednesday afternoon they spent over four hours deliberating the verdicts but did not reach a unanimous decision.

Judge David Hale told them: “Now more than ever it is important that you do not discuss the case with anyone. It can be tempting to use someone else as a sounding board for ideas, but please keep your own counsel and wait until you are back tomorrow.

“I can’t say forget about it because I wouldn’t be human nature but try to put it on a back burner as much as possible.”

The twelve jurors will return to Chester Crown Court on Thursday at 10.30am.
