A TEENAGER, whose soldier brother died on duty in Afghanistan, has nominated her mum to carry the Olympic flame in his memory.

Julie Finlay’s son Corporal Terry Webster, a member of the 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire), B (Malta) Company, died in June last year following an exchange of fire with insurgents while on foot patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province.

His 13-year old sister Tiggy, a pupil at Blacon High School, nominated her mum for the honour of being part of the torch relay which will pass through Chester.

The father-of-two was 24 when he was killed by the Taliban and a mountain in Scotland has recently been named after him.

Julie said: “Carrying the Olympic flame would be a lovely way to remember Terry.”
