Crowds are expected to line the streets of Chester when The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex comes to WH Smith for a book signing session.
The event on Thursday, May 28 is likely to be the most popular book signing at the Foregate Street store since hundreds of fans stretched down the length of Frodsham Street when Jordan came to sign her latest publication in 2008.
Chester store manager Damian Bellis said: “This event will be huge and is a first come first served event to an estimated 500 books.”
Joey Essex rose to fame in 2011 after appearing in the ITV2 television series The Only Way Is Essex and went on to take part in the first series of the celebrity diving show Splash! and the 13th series of I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, where he finished in fourth place.
In March 2014, he starred in a one-off documentary called Educating Joey Essex, taking place in South Africa, narrated by Phillip Schofield. ITV2 later ordered a full series that began in June 2014.
In 2015, he won the Channel 4 reality series The Jump.
During this time, he has become considered a barometer of popular opinion and was frequently consulted for his views by major political commentators throughout the recent general election campaign.
Other TV shows he has appeared on include Loose Women, Celebrity Juice, All Star Family Fortunes and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
On May 28 at noon in Chester he will be signing copies of his new publication entitled The Book of You (And Me) which enables you to ‘get inside the mind of Joey with this create-along journal’.
Only copies of the book bought at WH Smith will be signed by the star and proof of purchase must be retained for inspection at the event, which is subject to cancellation at short notice.
This will be Joey’s second official visit to Chester - in December 2013 he made a special appearance at Cruise nightclub which was said to be his favourite club in the North West. The visit was his first public appearance after leaving the Australian jungle for I’m A Celebrity.
