A SUCCESSFUL Frodsham-based company was celebrating at the country’s biggest new business awards after winning a prize for overcoming adversity.

Frodsham Laser Clinic, Collinson Court, was presented with the Adversity Award at the Barclays Startups Awards, the biggest event in the start-ups calendar, which recognises the most successful, high-achieving start-up companies in the UK.

Owner Janet Williams was delighted with the award, especially as the business has only been running for 10 months.

She said: “I had two kidney transplants which actually led me to open the laser clinic because I had excess hair growth.

“It was brilliant to have been nominated but to have won is fantastic. It is great for confidence in the business. We are always looking at new ways to overcome challenges and expanding.”

The ceremony was held at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington and was hosted by Sky News presenter Adrienne Lawler.

Frodsham Laser Clinic was given the award for its range of services including hair and tattoo removal, scar reduction and leg and facial vein removal.
