RAIL passengers are being offered more modern, spacious trains on long-distance services from Crewe.

Arriva Trains Wales began running 11 additional Coradia trains from Monday.

They are operating between Manchester and Holyhead via Crewe and help boost seats available on long-distance routes by 10%.

The Coradias reach speeds of up to 100mph and have modern, airconditioned carriages with additional leg room, on-train CCTV, a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

Mike Bagshaw, commercial director for Arriva Trains Wales, said: 'As well as providing improved comfort for long-distance journeys, passengers making shorter journeys from Crewe to Manchester on these services will also benefit from the increased seating capacity that Coradia trains provide.'
