TEAM GB has a giant representative in Chester.

Hoole CE Primary School pupil Joe Alman, five, won a competition to rename the recently transformed sporty giant at his school’s summer fair.

Hoole headteacher Cheryl Walton chose Joe’s suggestion of Sportacus as the winning name for the Olympic-themed giant.

As well as winning a sports-themed goody bag sponsored by 69 cycles of Hoole, Joe was also invited to visit Sportacus at GiANT HQ for a photo shoot.

Sportacus will be attending the celebration to welcome the Paralympic flame in Ellesmere Port on Saturday, August 25.
