OUTLINE plans were put forward for up to 42 homes on part of the BICC works in Helsby.

The application was made at Meres Edge by Brookhouse Helsby Ltd.

The site is mainly occupied by Oakmere House, a two-storey office building with vacant land at the rear which is overgrown and subject to tipping, according to a report.

Permission was granted in 2010 for an extra care development on the site. No objections were raised by Helsby Parish Council and there were no representations from neighbours.

No comments were made by Helsby borough councillor Les Ford (Con), who was notified.

The application was recommended for approval and planners agreed the outline plans could have permission.
