Hollyoaks stars had a ball as they took part in Malfest’s charity cricket match.

The celebrity game was captained by the soap’s long-standing star, Nick Pickard, who led the team to victory against The Malpas Festival XI, made up of residents from the village and performers from the festival, who narrowly missed out on a win.

Legendary cricket commentator Henry Blofeld gave his run-down of the match, which raised funds for Hollyoaks-supported charity, Contact the Elderly.

Sponsors were Stewart Milne Homes, a newcomer to Malpas after unveiling its development at Depenbech Rise on Tilston Road.

Sales and marketing director for Stewart Milne Homes, Eamonn McInerney, said: “Since its debut in 2011, Malfest has established itself as a fundamental part of the Malpas community and we are delighted to have been a part of an event which shows such tremendous support for local culture.”
