Kathy Benn was nominated by Cllr Lyn Riley for her services to the community in Cheshire.
She has been a trustee of the Cheshire Community Action since 2001 and chairman since 2009. She is also chairman of the Community Pride Competition which celebrates community spirit.
Kathy has been a parish councillor and borough councillor in Warrington and House of Commons secretary for the Warrington South Member of Parliament.
She was agent for Mark Carlisle for 23 years in the Runcorn constituency.
Kathy has worked for the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service Meals on Wheels and Library on Wheels and founded a coffee morning for the elderly in Grappenhall helping the housebound enjoy the company of other people.
She has worked in the voluntary sector for five decades.
Kathy is married to Jim with four grown up children and five grandchildren and has lived in Helsby for 29 years.
