A managing director from Helsby is a man on a marathon mission to raise £4,000 for the hospice which cared for his friends’ little girl.
The 45-year-old, who runs Rudheath-based satellite installation company Viewcomms, is aiming to raise £4,000 for Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Steve said: “I have chosen them because friends of mine had their life turned upside down and Claire House were there to help them.
“The care shown to Libby during her last eight days was nothing short of excellent.
“But much more than that was the care shown to them all as a family during what was an extremely distressing time.
“Claire House has continued to support them through their bereavement and I have witnessed how amazing and necessary this has been.”
Steve added that he recently visited the Wirral hospice and was ‘blown away’ by the staff’s care and commitment to children and their loved ones.
Having only taken up running a couple of years ago, he described gaining a place in the prestigious race as a ‘very proud although scary moment’.
