A WIDNESIAN who could hold the title of Halton's oldest resident celebrated her birthday yesterday.

Dolly Ducker had her 104th birthday party at Cartref Residential Home in Widnes, which was attended by her friends and two nieces. Another celebration was held the previous week.

Dolly has lived in the Farnworth area all her life and her father was proprietor of Duckworth Coal, which used to supply the Widnes area.

She worked for the family business and had other jobs, including shop work, throughout her life.

Home manager Claire Brophy said: 'Dolly has lived in Farnworth all her life so she feels at home at Cartref. She has a pet budgie named Joey who goes everywhere with her.

'Dolly is really chirpy and happy. She is looking forward to her party.'
