A ‘FANTASTIC’ set of A-level results have been welcomed by the headteacher at the University Church of England Academy.

The overall  pass rate at the school this year was 97% and 60% of grades were grade C or better.

Students who did particularly well were: Megan Patterson with three A*s, one A and one B; Ryan Stant with three A*s and one C; Brandon Kinson with two A*s, one B, one D and one E; Katie Ackroyd with two A*s and one C; Keri Gadsby with two As and three Cs; Lauren Hughes with two As, one B and one D; Joseph Duckers with one A*, one A and one D; Jonathan Scott with one B, one C and one D.

Most students who applied for university have received and accepted their places.

Kevin McDermott, principal at the University Church of England Academy, said: “I am delighted with this year’s results, as they provide a solid basis for our students to take their next steps in life and for them to pursue their dreams, they deserve a massive pat on the back.

“On their behalf, I would also like to thank our parents and teachers for their support in achieving these fantastic results.”
