What do you think is the ultimate fantasy for a Star Wars fan?

Unfortunately it's hard to arrange a ride on the Millennium Falcon this side of Alderaan.

But how about interviewing Han Solo and Luke Skywalker on the red carpet?

Alfie Boynton, 17, from Neston, grabbed the cast, including Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, of the worldwide blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the UK premiere.

He was also live streamed around the world when he asked the first question of the press conference to breakout star Daisy Ridley.

The young reporter, who goes to Neston High School, had been given the opportunity by charity Into Film.

Alfie said: “The red carpet premiere was absolutely brilliant.

“Everything about it was amazing, the overall atmosphere was outstanding just because of all the fans, you really felt their excitement, and I was excited as well.

“But the highlight was meeting Harrison Ford because he is just an amazing guy. He’s one of my childhood heroes and I met him, and I still can’t believe it now.”

The 17-year-old also spoke to stars Simon Pegg, John Boyega and Gwendoline Christie as well as director JJ Abrams outside the premiere in Leicester Square, London.

Alfie used his moment to ask Han Solo himself why Star Wars appeals across the generations.

Ford said: “I think it’s because of the underlying mythology that is a product of George Lucas’s wonderful imagination.

“That gets passed on from generation to generation in families because there is some useful nugget of human truth in it.”

Episode VII in the Star Wars saga has already enjoyed huge success and become one of the top 10 grossing films of all time.

At the press conference the Neston High School pupil was introduced to the cast before popping the first question to the panel, while being watched by millions around the world.

Alfie said: “It was a really good experience.

“I was able to address myself to the entire cast, and direct a question towards Daisy, which was brilliant.

“To actually be able to see the cast, and have them recognise me was a really special moment for me because I grew up with these films.

“It was probably the best fan experience you could have really, it was so immersive and intimate with the cast, it was really great.”

Alfie asked newcomers Ridley, who stars as Rey, and Adam Driver, who plays moody villain Kylo Ren, if they did anything in their auditions to stand out and if the original cast had given them any advice.

Ridley replied: “I had no idea what I did. I just tried very hard and I hoped very much.

“And there wasn’t so much advice, but I had a conversation with Harrison about anonymity.

“I think we were led by example, so for me it was amazing to see people who are established with a huge career be kind and generous to everyone on set.”

Driver said: “I didn’t get a sense ‘Oh they’ve been there, done that’, there was still a youthful ambition in trying to get it right.

“To see them lead by example was very inspiring to see, but also terrifying because it seems no matter how long you get to do this job you never really quite figure it out.”
