MORE than 50 people joined the Habitats and Hillforts team at Beeston Castle for their second willow art weaving course.

The course was run over four days by the Harthill Arts Trust and lead by willow weaver Sarah Gallagher-Heyes.

The course which was free to Cheshire residents, gave the group an opportunity to learn willow sculpture techniques. Working in small teams the participants produced large-scale sculptures that are now being displayed permanently on site. The week ended with a ceremonial celebration and a visit from Cheshire’s storyteller The Journey Man, who wowed his audience with tales of the Ridgeworm.
