AN AIRCRAFT fitter and his pals raised more than £2,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care by running five miles.

Jamie Veitch, 24, from Saltney, first did the sponsored run with friend Phil Taylor three years ago after Jamie’s partner Becky Jones lost her grandma to cancer.

This time they were joined by Becky, 23, and 15 friends, all connected through City Bar, where they all socialise.

The group, who raised £2,100, wore cops and robbers outfits along the course which ended in City Bar where owner Martin Ellis laid on refreshments.

Jamie, who works for Airbus, said: “This year we did cops and robbers because last year we had a few walkers so we thought the robbers could run off and the people who couldn’t keep pace could be dressed as cops!”
