The Ice Cream Farm celebrated its busiest day of the year to date on Saturday as they hosted their inaugural Great Pancake Party in support of the Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA). As well as selling delicious hot pancakes, served with a scoop of your favourite Cheshire Farm Ice Cream and a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce, the Ice Cream Farm went all out in the ‘pancake party’ stakes, raising much needed money along the way.
With some enthusiastic and professional help from the Tattenhall Girl Guides, The Pancake Olympics took place on the Farm grounds and included a 25m Pancake Flipping Sprint, Pancake Slalom and Pancake Throwing heats that got every imaginable age group involved. An attempt was also made at new World Record for the Longest Pancake Tossing Relay, which involved the greatest number of consecutive pancake tosses from one person to another. Unfortunately the pancake in question didn’t cut the mustard, but a great deal of fun was had along the way!
Great Pancake Parties are being held the length and breadth of the country this week, running from Saturday March 1 to Saturday, March 8 as the nation is encouraged to have some flippin’ good fun. The brainchild of Lynn Hedgecoe, the event’s founder and herself a Cardiomyopathy sufferer, the events have been set up to provide a fun and simple way to help support the CMA, providing information and support to families affected by the heart muscle disease. The Ice Cream Farm has hosted the largest event to date and Lynn was on hand throughout the day to offer all of the support she could.
Jonathan Fell of the Ice Cream Farm comments: “The Great Pancake Party was a fantastic event for The Ice Cream Farm as our visitors are naturally looking for a fun way to spend their afternoon. We were thrilled with how many people got involved on the day and as our attraction is free to enter, we would like to say a special thank you to everyone that gave so generously to this fantastic cause.”
The Ice Cream Farm continues to sell pancakes all this week up until Saturday, March 8, with a percentage of each pancake sold going to the Cardiomyopathy Association.
