Girl Guides from Chester have had an ‘off-grid’ adventure.

Girls from 17th Chester Guides and 1st Upton Guides joined more than 400 girls from across the North West for the ultimate outdoor challenge called Guides off the Grid.

The youngsters were all challenged to switch of their technology and get back to basics through a variety of different activities including; high ropes course, climbing wall, water activities, archery and abseiling.

The weekend finished with all members taking part in an Its-A-Knock-Out challenge, where the girls had to work in teams to complete an inflatable assault course.

Victoria Pearson, 11, a member of 17th Chester Guide Unit said: “I had a great time at Guides off the Grid and made loads of new friends, this was my first time camping it was fantastic! I really enjoyed the high ropes course, even though I was a bit scared at first, because it was so high!”

Cerys Eames, 11, a member of 1st Upton Guide Unit added: “My favourite activity was the outdoor skills session - I learnt loads of new things like how to make a fire.”
