Whitby High said it was ‘delighted’ with its teenagers’ GCSE results with numbers gaining the valuable five GCSEs at A* – C grades improving once again.

Students at the Sycamore Drive school collected their long awaited results and were rewarded with ‘excellent’ grades with improvements across all areas and some outstanding individual achievements.

As students and staff reflected on their hard work headteacher Bryn Heeley said: “I am very proud indeed that the continued hard work of the students at The Whitby High school has seen them achieve excellent results.

“At a time when the rigour within the examinations system increases our students have continued to improve. Well done to them all.”
