‘Fantastic’ was the word used to describe this year’s GCSE results at Christleton High School.
An impressive 97% of all Year 11 students achieved 8 or more GCSEs with 75% achieving 5 A*- C grades, (68% when including English and Maths), and staff at the school said they were very pleased with the outcome.
Within the year group, there were some remarkable individual results with 8 students achieving 7 or more A*- A grades and a further 13 achieving 8 or more A*- A grades. Four of these achieved 8 or more A* grades alone.
Gareth Barton, Head of Year 11 said the results followed the school’s determination to focus on independent and creative approaches to learning.
“This year’s grades are fantastic,” he said. “As a staff team, we couldn’t be happier for all the students who have achieved these fabulous results and I wish everyone well for the future.”
Damian Stenhouse, acting headteacher, added: “We had set high expectations for this year group and they have clearly achieved them with
this strong set of results. These continue to be particularly challenging times for young people and it is inspiring to see how committed and hardworking they are.
“We wish all of our students every success in their future studies and careers.”
