Some outstanding results were reported at Ellesmere Port Catholic High.

Headteacher Caroline Vile offered her congratulations to students who received their GCSE results at the school.

Headline figures show outstanding performances from departments, amongst those of note were 85% A* to C successes for students in English, 100% A*-C in biology, chemistry and physics, 100% A*-C in textiles, 98% A*-C in ICT and 94% in Spanish.

In mathematics 31.1% of students achieved A*-B grades and 62.4% A*-C grades.

In excess of 20% of entries secured a top grade pass at an A* or A.

While celebrating the achievement of all, some individuals confirmed staff’s belief that they teach some of the most talented students in the land as some secured success at the highest level.

Sarah Hall recorded the best GCSE results with 11 A*s at GCSE, Neil Wilks and Connor Hope achieved 12 A*-A grades and Justine Pagtalunan and Mary Sherriff achieved 10 qualifications at A*-A .

Mrs Vile added: “We have achieved some outstanding results this year. Our ambition is to achieve outstanding results in all areas and we will continue to work towards this.”
