SUMMER holidays are looming - but there's no need for children to be bored in Northwich.

Sir John Deane's College is offering a range of fun-packed and educational activities this summer, including an environmental recycling talk, food safety and healthier eating workshops to a visit from the fire service.

Children aged from four to 12 years old are being invited to take part in the popular Summer Fun Club.

The Fun Club takes place in the College's Leisure Centre bursting into action on August 1 and continuing throughout the summer holidays, packed with fun, games, sports and swimming.

It runs from 9am to 4pm, but there are additional sessions, from 8am to 8.45am, and from 4pm to 6pm, for parents who are working.

Lesley McLaughlin, SJD Leisure Centre Manager, said: 'We are really looking forward to a fantastic summer - there's a great deal going on, as well as the chance to swim in the leisurepool.'

Planned events include:

* Wednesday August 1 - Environmental Recycling

* Tuesday August 7 - Healthy Eating and Hand washing Hygiene

* Wednesday August 15 - Fire Service visit

* Tuesday August 21 - Healthy Eating and Hand washing Hygiene

* Thursday August 23 - Food Safety (8-12-year-olds only).

The Fun Club is filling up fast - but there is still space available. To reserve a place ring the Leisure Centre on 01606 353930.
