Ahead of one of the most important referendums in a generation, Frodsham is holding a debate on the European Union to help you decide how to vote.

Getting the community involved is the aim of the meeting at Frodsham Community Centre on June 7.

Conservative MEP Sajjad Karim will be sitting on the panel, along with representatives from the Stronger In and Vote Leave campaigns.

The debate has been set up by a combined effort from Frodsham Town Council and Frodsham Transition Initiative.

June 7 is also the final day to join the electoral register ahead of the vote on June 23.

'A very important event'

Co-organiser Allan Arthur said: “It’s obviously a very important event.

“I think most people are coming round to thinking this is a very serious vote we have to undertake.

“I floated the idea of hosting the debate with councillors and they said they would like to get involved.

“It’s about the community being engaged and informed. We wanted to give them a chance to hear both sides of the argument.”
