TALENTED artists have been getting residents in the Christmas spirit with a special art exhibition to find the perfect present.

More than 200 local artists showcased their work as they flocked to Frodsham Methodist Church on Kingsley Road.

MP for Weaver Vale Graham Evans, who opened the exhibition, commented on the vast array of skills and talent across the market town, while children from Overton CE Primary School sang cheerful festive songs to liven up the crowds.

The exhibition, named Creative Winter, was curated by Liz and Alun Evans and included paintings, photographs and stitchcraft, quilting and patchwork.

Proceeds from the exhibition will be shared between the church and The Amity Foundation, a Christian organisation working to promote education, social services, health and rural development in China, which is the church’s charity for 2013.

The Rev Denise Harding said it was fantastic to see so much fabulous work on display at the church.

“We extend an invitation to all to come and experience something of the real meaning of Christmas at any of our services.”
