Icy conditions in Cheshire have caused two separate early morning collisions today (Monday February 10).

Emergency services had to be called out to the A534 Wrexham Road near Gallantry Bank in Bickerton just after 6.05am after two cars skidded on ice within minutes of each other.

Police closed off the road for around an hour and four males were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital as a precaution.

The road has since been reopened.

A police spokesperson reiterated the importance of staying safe when out and about on the roads.
