City of Chester Swimming Club, which is in charge of operating the building, is opening both the Atlantic and Pacific pools between 1pm and 3pm for local residents to have a free swim and to see the refurbished building.

Swimming places can be booked by calling the baths on 01244 320898 or email chester.swimming.association@hotmail.com

Great opportunity

Cllr Louise Gittins, Cabinet member for culture, leisure and wellbeing said: “What a great opportunity for local people to see the refurbishment of the building and to also have a free swim.

This iconic building is so important and well-loved by generations of swimmers and now is the time to not only have a free swim but also book future lessons.”

Chairman of Chester Swimming Association, Brian McCann, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming swimmers back to the pool and particularly to visits from local people who may have learned to swim here but haven’t been in the building for many years.”
