RETURNING troops are being given a warm welcome back to the UK.

Next week, in the run-up to Armed Forces’ day on Saturday, June 25, current and veteran troops can enjoy a free roast dinner at two Chester pubs.

The Wheatsheaf Inn, Saughall, and the Old Quay, Neston, will salute the troops with a meal from Monday until Saturday, June 25.

Nick Evans, manager at the Wheatsheaf Inn, said: “It is only fitting we support the armed forces on such a momentous day.

“We hope a meal on the house will provide a morale boost for all our hard-working troops and proud veterans in the week leading up to and on Armed Forces Day itself.”

To claim the free meal, visit www.crowncarveries.co.uk and download the ‘free carvery meal’ voucher and present this along with a current ID card or veteran lapel badge.
