Jorgie Porter appears in the new cast of Are you Being Served?

Ex-Chester dance school student Jorgie Porter, who shot to fame on Hollyoaks, will appear in an episode of the revamped Are You Being Served?

After a hiatus of 30 years, The Grace Brothers department store will open for business again with a new cast.

Jorgie, who played Theresa McQueen in Hollyoaks, will take on the role of new character Miss Croft in the sitcom, which follows staff at the fictional shop.

The first image from the sitcom revival has been released ahead of the one-off special and Jorgie looks almost unrecognisable with a bouffant hairstyle.

The actress, who also appeared in reality show I’m A Celebrity, will play Mr Rumbold’s secretary and appear alongside an all-star cast.

Loose Women star Sherrie Hewson will take over the role of Mrs Slocombe from the late Mollie Sugden and Only Fools and Horses actor John Challis will play Frank Thornton’s stuffy character Captain Peacock.

Hammond School Hall of Fame - where are they now?

Derren Litten has written the one-off special of the sitcom, which began on BBC One in 1972 and ran for over 10 years.

Are You Being Served? will air in September and will be part of the BBC’s Landmark Sitcom Season, which will revisit old favourites including Porridge, Goodnight Sweetheart and Keeping Up Appearances.
