Festive flowers were the centrepiece of a charity fundraiser.

More than 60 guests turned out for a floral master-class and a festive feast at Rowton Hall in aid of the Miles for Smiles Appeal on Monday , December 16.

The charity event, organised by Northwich based Emma Fawcett-Eustace Flowers, transformed Rowton Hall in to a festive winter wonderland, celebrating the very best of local crafts and produce.

Many Cheshire based businesses turned out to support the event, with an array of stalls offering everything from home furnishings, Christmas cards, children’s toys and chocolates.

Ms Fawcett-Eustace held a masterclass focusing on making arrangements out of the most simple of home items, and a how-to leaflet offering a step by step guide to making a door wreath, proved hugely popular among guests.

A raffle supported by many Cheshire businesses also included a host of floral prizes from Emma.

She said: “I am delighted with the event. I feel passionate about making time to support charities and local causes, as well as helping to promote local businesses wherever possible. This event seemed like the perfect opportunity to celebrate and support both, and also to enjoy a really festive affair which had an interesting element to it, and enabled guests to get a little creative!”

The charity, founded by former Chester Chronicle journalist Tecwyn Williams raises funds to send sick, terminally ill and disabled children from Chester, North Wales and the Wirral on the holiday of a lifetime.

Alison Ireland, a representative from the charity made a short speech in which she thanked the organisers, and reminded those in attendance of the work this great cause conducts.
