RECEPTION class pupils at Dodleston CE Primary School have been getting down to the bear essentials of education.

The youngsters are following Barnaby Bear on his travels with the help of teachers Kate Seager and Becky Astin and teaching assistant Sarah Gifford.

They have enjoyed a school trip to Chester where they took in the sights including Grosvenor Park, the River Dee, Chester Amphitheatre and the Eastgate Clock.

Mrs Seager said: “We had lunch at Chester Cathedral and finished the day with a trip to the Build A Bear workshop where everyone made their own bear.”

The children enjoy a regular gymnastics class at Dodleston Village Hall with teacher Dennis Dorman.
